Itinerary

You will have the opportunity to discover the splendor of Ho Chi Minh City during an all-day city trip. You will see the War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, and the Reunification Palace this morning.

Reunification Palace
  • Visit the Reunification Palace first on your tour, as it’s one of the most significant historical structures in the area. This location marked the conclusion of the American-Vietnamese War. In an effort to unite North and South Vietnam, the North Vietnamese Army’s T54 tank, number 843, crashed through its gates on April 30, 1975, and raised the national flag atop the palace.
War Remnants Museum
  • Your next destination is the War Remnants Museum, originally the Museum of American War Crimes, which features a moving exhibit on the pointlessness of war. The only museum in Vietnam included in the global network of more than 60 “Museums for Peace” by UNESCO is this one. You can learn about the crimes committed by the invaders as well as the history of Vietnam during the war by going to this museum.
Notre Dame Cathedral
  • You can spend some time touring the Old Post Office and Notre Dame Cathedral before dining at a neighborhood eatery for lunch. These are the most beautiful sites in Saigon, examples of French colonial architecture, and they are located adjacent to one another in District 1. The 57-meter-tall Notre Dame Cathedral was constructed by the French between 1877 and 1880. It’s amazing that all of the stones that went into making it were brought from France to Vietnam.
  • It’s a well-known and beloved location for both locals and tourists, and it serves as a place of Catholic prayer with its two 40-meter bell towers. Constructed between 1886 and 1891, the Old Post Office is Vietnam’s largest post office, showcasing a blend of European and Asian architectural styles.
  • It is particularly well-known for the dome system inside, which raises the structure and improves its capacity to house a large number of people.
Ben Thanh Market
  • You will get the opportunity to see Ben Thanh Market, Giac Lam Pagoda, Cho Lon Pagoda, and Thien Hau Pagoda in the afternoon. With a history reaching back to 1744, Giac Lam Pagoda is both the oldest and one of the best pagodas in Vietnam. It has a ton of documentation on religious sculpture, architecture, history, and culture.
  • There are only eight bronze statues among the pagoda’s 113 antique wooden statues. The architectural elements of these monuments demonstrate the exchange of cultures with other nations, particularly Southeast Asia. Don’t miss the incredible Tree of Wandering Souls, where people write the names of their loved ones on slips of paper and affix them to the tree in order to pray for their ailing relatives.
  • You will then travel to Cho Lon and see the Thien Hau Pagoda. The Hoa people settled in Cho Lon in 1778 after coming here to avoid the Tay Son-Nguyen Anh War. Among the oldest pagodas in the city, Thien Hau Pagoda, situated in District 5, was constructed in 1760 by the Hoa people and features their distinctive architectural style.
  • The vibrant, tourist-heavy Ben Thanh Market is your last destination of the day. This is the trade hub of the South as well as Ho Chi Minh City’s central market. The Ben Thanh Market, with the O’clock Tower, is sometimes regarded as the symbol of Saigon.

You will be returned to your hotel in the late afternoon once the tour ends today.
